Selecting the correct type of footwear for mountaineering, hiking and walking presents unique challenges in today's ever changing market where a vast array of different, technologies, last shapes and construction types dominate and not all things are created equal.

Taking advantage of our one hour hiking boot consultation will provide comprehensive fit report for each client along with recommendations for the selection of boot type, rigidity, construction, internal orthotic support and address issues such as:

- Plantar Facitis

- Metatsrsalgia

- Heel pain 

- Neuroma

- Numbness

- Hallux Valgus

- Corns & calluses

- Inversion trauma

Beginning with a detailed discussion on each clients specific use requirements, medical and podiatry history (if any) there is a full podiatry and bio -mechanics analysis.  A plantar pressure mapping may be used to assist in defining individual gait anomalies that may be contributing to historic fit issues and detailed measurements of foot length, medial arch length, forefoot width and forefoot volume are taken and recorded.

 This one hour consultation is crucial to understanding how to guide our clients in their search for the best fitting footwear solutions.  

Beginning with a detailed discussion into your personal sports and lifestyle history, it includes a comprehensive podiatry and bio -mechanics assessment providing crucial information in understanding the individual needs of each client.  Defining the underlying attributes that can lead to problems, highlighting potential trouble spots and defining requirements for orthotic support.

At the end of the consultation the client is provided with a copy of the detailed notes and findings along with recommendations on which brands, manufacturers and specialist retailer  will best be suited to their needs.

Designed specifically for the unique attributes of Ski boots this one hour consultation includes many of the same podiatry and bio-mechanical processes which focus on establishing the potential causes of discomfort and loss of performance when Skiing.

Unlike gated activities mid-stance sports like skiing, cycling, and skating can often require the footwear used to be modified to establish the most comfortable and neutral stance.  

Once your consult has been completed the client may choose to have their existing equipment altered on site to improve fit and will be provided with a detailed copy of the data and recommendations observed during the assessment.
